This time of year, as spring gradually moves into summer after a VERY long winter, there seem to be a lot of bugs and illnesses doing the rounds. This puts the immune system under a lot of pressure, and can be even harder for runners who are frequently testing their bodies to the max and working their immune systems hard anyway. If you have been feeling a bit sluggish or weary during your runs lately it could be that you are fighting off germs, over-training or your iron levels are a bit lower than usual.
